Sensory Storytelling

This session celebrates the multisensory alchemy of storytelling—from bird song echoing ancestral memory to visuals that fold time. Together, Sam, Samantha and Tamara share how their practices tune into the elements. They illuminate how voice, image and song can become portals—enabling us to listen with more-than-human presence, expand our creative guides, and craft narratives rooted in elemental connection.

Sam Lee is a Mercury Prize–nominated folk singer, song collector, conservationist and broadcaster. His practice includes Songdreaming retreats—immersive gatherings where participants sing with nightingales and reconnect with birdsong as living heritage and ecological act .

Samantha Rose is a sacred storyteller and ceremonial guide with deep roots in Earth-based lore. She channels ancestral and elemental narratives—performing at festivals, ceremonies and firesides—to help listeners awaken intimate connection with the land and its unseen wisdom .

Tamara Dean is a critically acclaimed photo-media artist whose work explores rites of passage and our relationship with nature. Through still and moving imagery she invites intimate engagement with elemental presence, vulnerability and ritual in the natural world .
